BlackBerry Curve 8900 Smartphone Review

Blackberry Curve 8900
Form factor
The newest Blackberry Curve 8900 smartphone has the same sleek design, inherited from the Blackberry Bold 9000, which is a 3G version smartphone. The 109.5mm x 60.5mm x 13.5mm (4.3″ x 2.4″ x .5″) profile makes this the thinnest BlackBerry ever, which is very surprising given the amount of features Blackberry has packed into this smartphone. For example, the 2.4 inches screen display is bright and crisp. The beautiful curve design, compact size and weighing at 110-gram, the Curve 8900 can be easily slips into any pocket or purse. The Curve 8900’s full QWERTY keyboard is an eye candy however the small inset buttons may not be compatible with large, fat fingers. But then again, how many phones these days are designed for people with fat fingers.
Emails Access
Despite connecting only to the slow and now considered outdated GSM mobile network, we found that this smartphone quickly download emails and attachments. This is a due to the efficient way the BlackBerry compresses emails. Multiple email accounts can be easily configured, and users can choose to either combine their inboxes for their email and SMS/MMS messages or keep it all separate.

A great business smartphone
Software
New software lets you open and even edit Office documents sent as email attachments, including Excel spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations, along with viewing PDF documents and, of course, photos.
Forget the iPod, during the daily commute the Blackberry Curve 8900 can play MP3 music, videos and podcasts, including tracks downloaded from iTunes or Windows Media Player on your PC.
Battery Life
Running on the GSM mobile network mean this phone requires less power, delivering a longer battery life. You should easily get two days worth of calls before it needs recharging, provided you’re not using the Curve 8900’s Wi-Fi radio to connect to a wireless network.
Overall
The Curve 8900 remains one of the best business smartphones you can buy. While 3G delivers greater raw speed, the GSM network has far wider coverage, with most of Australia tucked under its wing. So if you’re a geek on the constant move and require a phone that have greater coverage but is not too weighty, this phone is definitely something to consider.
